Article about Passenger Tracking and CAST Express solution TeTOP
The Passenger Terminal World Magazine published an article about passenger tracking and TeTop (Terminal Traffic and operational planning) passenger flow prediction at Munich Airport. TeTOP is a CAST Express solution designed to improve the passenger experience by identifying bottlenecks, improving passenger flow and assisting with airport resource planning.
Dr. Michael Schmidt, aeronautical engineering, modeling and simulations project manager at Munich Airport, explains how TeTOP supports the airport in “daily or weekly planning, by using past data from aircraft load factors, checkpoint throughputs and boarding card scans in order to predict inputs for a simulation model covering each aspect of a passenger journey”. He also states that the possibility of identifying future peak situations enables Munich Airport to create mitigation tactics.
